Andres Perez is head fitness coach at FOUNDATIONperformance. He acquired his Bachelor’s in Exercise Physiology from Barry University in Miami, Florida in 2011. He is currently enrolled in the Physical Therapist Assistant program at the Community College of Rhode Island where he plans to graduate in 2021. Andres is certified in Functional Movement systems (FMS) level 1. and also holds a U.S. Soccer National D license for coaching.
Andres has an extensive athletic background in soccer. He was an essential figure for Barry University’s men’s soccer team from 2007 to 2011 helping the team win two conference championships while qualifying for the NCAA DII national tournament three out of the four years he attended. After college, Andres played professionally in Puerto Rico for various clubs, most notably, the Puerto Rico Islanders of the NASL. He was also called up to the Puerto Rico National Team earning 16 caps over four years and competed in World Cup Qualifiers for the 2014 and 2018 World Cups. After taking two years off from soccer, Andres now gives back to the sport he loves by coaching premier youth soccer for the Bayside Rhode Island Strikers 2004 and 2005 girl’s travel teams. He also continues to play for the local men’s amateur team, Providence City FC Rogues.
Andres moved to Rhode Island in December of 2017 from Miami with his wife Kathryn, a pediatric nurse and former Barry University soccer star.
