The 2015 Class Schedule

All classes are in our Warren, RI office unless otherwise noted.

Foundation PerformanceFPMOVE is the fitness focussed programming created by co-owner Carla Silva, MS, PT. The assessments and classes offered through FPMOVE are focused on one goal: making you better. Anyone can just make you tired, but are you getting better? With a medical and fitness background coming together these classes and programs will change the way you think about your well being.

With the changes in healthcare, it is becoming more evident that we need to be responsible for our own well being to reach our best physical health and performance, and FPMOVE is leading the way.

STRONGHER

STRONGHER

This is our first transformation program under our new division called FPMOVE. For 8 weeks you will have the opportunity to meet with your coach three times every week to strength train properly, identify your best practices and to improve your body, mind and soul! There will be weekly challenges and monthly weigh-ins as well as motivational stories and nutritional advice. This is a small group program( no more than 8 students) for more individualized attention then our large group classes.  This is an amazing one-of-a-kind program you won’t find anywhere else.

COREESSENTIAL

coreEssentialDuring this class you will be using bands, TRX, kettlebells and body weight to strength train your core (spine, abdominals, back, shoulder and hips).   As the name indicates, essential means absolutely necessary, and this class is needed to make sure your core is working properly in order to maximize your physical efforts.

Learn how to properly tap into your “core” and move the way we were supposed to.  A must for everyone no matter your level of fitness or your age.  As we age we lose the ability to tap into our “core” properly, this class will ensure you can stabilize and control your body.

For those on a tight schedule it is also offered in a 30 minute format.

An assessment is not required prior to taking the class for the first time.

RUNstrong

runstrongOur oldest class, but oh how its grown.   This class is based on
Michael Silva’s 12 years of experience working with runners of all levels
(from recreational to professional). Thousands of runners all over New England have taken part and benefitted from this “Runner focussed” class.

RUNstrong is based on the needs that all runners have.  This class includes foam rolling, dynamic warm-up, and strengthening exercises. Strengthen from head to toe in a way you need to be a better,, faster,  less injured runner.  Utilizing research on injury prevention and strength training to keep you strong and injury free.  Because all athletes need to run, the class is great for all athletes.

An assessment is not required prior to taking the class for the first time.

BORN2MOVE

born2moveCome feel how good it is to move properly again!

This class incorporates foam rolling, movement preparation and full movement patterns that are essential to all exercise. Breath, move, and strengthen using your own body weight. Wake up your awareness and free restrictions that limit your full function.

We have full 60 minute classes as well as a 30 minute class. The 30 minute class is typically scheduled after our 30 minute CIRCUIT30 class giving you the opportunity to have a 60 minute workout with 2 focuses: 1. Strength & Energy and 2. Movement & Mobility.

An assessment is not required prior to taking the class for the first time.

CIRCUIT30

circuit30This 30 minute class will challenge your strength and energy systems with fun and effective circuits. For those who don’t have time for a full 60 minute class this is a great option to up your fitness and stay on schedule.

The class is typically followed by our 30 minute BORN2MOVE class giving you the opportunity to have a 60 minute workout with 2 focuses: 1. Strength & Energy and 2. Movement & Mobility.

An assessment is not required prior to taking the class for the first time.

TFWSTRENGTH

tfwStrengthIt is time to take your fitness and health to the next level. This is a small group class (no more than 6 students) for more individualized attention then our large group classes. . You gain the most benefit from a fitness program that holds you accountable.

During this hour you will go through a detailed warm up that will be sure to fire you up and get you ready to get strong. Then the class will move into strength training. Strength training will build relative body strength which leads to great absolute strength.  All training principles are based on time-proven techniques that will get you to reach your goals.  We will use resistance such as kettlebells, bars, dumbbells, CoreSlings and bands.

Attention will be on proper form and technique plus exercises will be modified for the individuals needs. Based on the “Training for Warriors” (TFW) program.  As with all TFW programs we share motivational stories and guidance for best practices to live a healthy and productive life.

An assessment is required prior to taking the class for the first time. Please call our office to schedule a 30 minute Basic Fitness Assessment first.

TFWMETABOLIC

TFW MetabolicIt is time to take your fitness and health to the next level. You gain the most benefit from a fitness program that holds you accountable.

During this hour you will go through a detailed warm up that will be sure to fire you up and get you ready to work out.  The class will then move into strength training and cardiovascular circuits to challenge your metabolic system.

Short duration high intensity circuits organized in a way to give you a great efficient work out. Attention will be on proper form and technique plus exercises will be modified for the individual’s needs.

Based on the “Training for Warriors” (TFW) program.  These circuits include the famous “TFWHURRICANE“. As with all TFW programs we share motivational stories and guidance for best practices to live a healthy and productive life.

ASSESSMENTS

AssessmentsYou don’t know where you are going unless you know where you came from.  This is why our assessments are crucial for our clients’ success. Many people end up getting hurt while trying to start an exercise program. Others that are active continue to get hurta and don’t have the know-how to stop the repeated injuries.  We want to put an end to that.
